ADVANCED ZOHAR
Content:
This class is a continuation of the study of the Zohar begun in Rel. 342 (or elsewhere). We will review and then proceed to a close reading of texts. Our goal will be to acquire enough proficiency to be able to read and interpret a zoharic text without using the English commentary, i.e., to acquire zoharic reflexes. To do this, we will cover a lot of ground, including some units not covered previously, and then we will switch to the uncommented (English) text.

Particulars:
We will use the study-partner method, i.e., each student will have a partner with whom he or she will prepare assigned readings for class. I will make available the Tishbi Hebrew translation for those who are capable of reading it, as well as the Aramaic original for anyone who would like to try.
